About Mark Dixson
Mark Dixson is a prostate cancer survivor residing in Soldotna. He spent most of his career as a general practice attorney in Owego, New York. In 2006, he was appointed to serve as county attorney for the County of Tioga. In 2010, he and his wife moved to Soldotna where he served as general services director for the Kenai Peninsula Borough and then as city manager for the City of Soldotna. He retired in October 2017.
Dixon currently serves as sole trustee for the Floyd A Hooker Foundation which benefits the children of Tioga County. The trust manages nearly $4 million in assets and has awarded more than $5 million in grants since its inception. Dixson also serves as treasurer for the Central Peninsula Health Foundation, secretary for the Rotary District 5010 Foundation, secretary for the Soldotna Rotary Club and is a board member for the Alaska Men’s Run. He enjoys trail running, biking, tennis, woodworking and fishing.
