AIOF proudly supports this year’s race as a Pink Diamond sponsor

Anchorage, ALASKA –– June 10, 2024 –– Aurora Integrated Oncology Foundation, an Alaska nonprofit dedicated to improving cancer care in Alaska, is proud to support the Alaska Run for Women as a Pink Diamond sponsor, pledging $40,000 to support breast cancer awareness, education and research. The Alaska Run for Women is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness to combat breast cancer in Alaska. Over its 30-year history, the organization has raised $5.7 million in funding and donated mammograms for Alaskans.

“Our centers have supported the Alaska Run for Women for years. We’re honored to increase our commitment this year,” said Dr. William Magnuson, Medical Director at Anchorage Radiation Oncology Center, an AIOF center. “We believe in the importance of supporting Alaska Run for Women’s work on breast cancer awareness and decreasing the impact of breast cancer on individuals and communities. Our commitment to this cause stems from a deep desire to enhance early detection, advance innovative treatments, and provide comprehensive education programs.

We’re so proud to support the great impact of this organization and all it does for women across the state.” While AIOF is a new foundation, its roots in Alaska’s health care landscape run deep with established cancer care facilities statewide, including Anchorage Radiation Oncology Center, Mat-Su Valley Cancer Center, Peninsula Radiation Oncology Center and Southeast Radiation Oncology Center.

These centers are part of AIOF’s network, ensuring advanced, accessible cancer treatments and comprehensive support for patients and families across Alaska. Looking ahead, AIOF continues to embrace strategic philanthropy by supporting community health initiatives. In 2024 alone, the Foundation has committed $500,000 to aid nonprofit organizations across Alaska, aiming to remove barriers to patient care and increase Alaska’s health care workforce.
