Aurora Integrated Oncology Foundation Hosts First Annual Cancer Screening Day at Alaska State Fair with Free PSA Tests and Mammogram Scheduling

Anchorage, AK – July 15, 2025 –Aurora Integrated Oncology Foundation (AIOF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access and improving cancer care for all Alaskans, is thrilled to announce the First Annual Cancer Screening Day at the Alaska State Fair on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Held between Raven Hall and the Farm Exhibit on the Fairgrounds, this event underscores AIOF’s mission to ensure every Alaskan has access to life-saving cancer screening and education in a welcoming, community-centered environment.

From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM AKDT, fairgoers can take advantage of free prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests for prostate cancer screening, get screened for breast cancer with a mammogram in the mobile mammography unit provided by Providence Imaging Center, receive an HPV vaccine through Let Every Woman Know along with consult with medical professionals from a wide range of cancer screening specialties. All services offered on Cancer Screening Day are free of charge to attendees, except for mammograms, which will bill your insurance or help provide financial assistance through Alaska Breast & Cervical Heath Check for those that are eligible.

Mammograms will also be available on-site through the Providence Imaging Center’s mobile mammography unit. While mammograms are not free and will be billed to your insurance, the Alaska Breast and Cervical Health Check Program will be available for those who may may be eligible for financial assistance.

We want to uplift our community partners and empower Alaskans to prioritize their health in a setting they already love.”

Informational booths and one-on-one consultations will address questions about prostate, breast, and other cancer screenings, ensuring fairgoers leave informed and empowered.

By hosting this event at the Alaska State Fair, AIOF aims to reach wide and diverse audience, from urban communities to remote villages, fostering a culture of proactive, informed health management across the state.

No registration is required for PSA tests or consultations, and walk-ins are welcome. Attendees will be able to pre-schedule their mammograms, however walk-ins are welcome as well, may experience brief waits during peak hours. The event complements the Alaska State Fair’s vibrant atmosphere, blending health education with family-friendly activities.
