Erick Baribeau R(T) T. – Radiation Therapist, PROC
From the sunny 70s of San Diego to the heart of Soldotna, Ericka Baribeau joined
Peninsula Radiation Oncology Center as a Radiation Therapist in December 2025. Her
passion for technology, paired with her deep compassion for patients, made Radiation
Oncology a natural fit.
Ericka discovered her calling at just 15 years old while helping care for an ill uncle. That
experience shaped her desire to support patients and their families with the same level
of care she would want for her own. She began her healthcare journey at 18 as a CNA,
later working in stroke, neuro, and cardiology as a cardiac technician. After learning
about Radiation Safety, she asked to shadow in Radiation Oncology—and was
immediately captivated by the blend of advanced technology and meaningful patient
interaction that defines the role of a Radiation Therapist. It felt like a true calling.
While living in San Diego, Ericka volunteered with the American Red Cross for a year
and a half, supporting women, infants, and children in accessing healthy foods. She
spent much of her time at a local farmers market helping families choose fresh, local
produce—a win for both community health and the local farming economy.

In 2026, Danielle traveled to the Cook Islands, visiting both Rarotonga and Aitutaki. Inter-island travel in the region can be costly, and the Sunshine Bonus made this experience possible. One of Danielle’s primary reasons for choosing the Cook Islands was the opportunity to see giant clams, which are endangered due to A major draw to AIOF and PROC was the strong focus on community and outreach.
“The PROC team makes a difference not only inside the clinic, but also in the
community,” Ericka shared.
Ericka and her husband, Asif, first visited Alaska in 2017 and immediately knew it was a place they wanted to call home. Promoting health and wellness is a priority for her, and she loves traveling and spending time outdoors. Belize remains her favorite destination—its hospitality and sense of community left a lasting impression. A few fun facts: Ericka was born and raised in the mountains of San Diego. She has a 14-year-old half-Pomeranian, half-Yorkie pup named Dolce. And she could happily eat sushi every day—especially salmon, which makes Alaska an ideal place to be.
We’re thrilled to welcome Ericka to the team.
