 Meet Dr. Mike Green, the bright new addition to our Anchorage Radiation Oncology Center team! Dr. Green is a board-certified radiation oncologist who joins us with an inspiring journey into medicine fueled by happenstance, passion, and a touch of humor.
During his early days at Mount Sinai, he was paired with a senior oncologist whose dedication to patient care struck a chord with Mike, sparking his enduring commitment to oncology. Though his mentor has since passed, Dr. Green cherishes the influence on his career.
A romantic twist to his story: Ultimate Frisbee led him to his wife, Jordan, during his student years in New York. He saw her sporting a nerdy t-shirt, and a shared love of all things quirky led to a happily ever after.
Now celebrating a decade of marriage, Mike and Jordan have three wonderful children: Naomi, Miriam, and Isaac.
The Greens recently made Anchorage their home, embracing the Alaskan lifestyle while residing in Jordan’s childhood neighborhood of Turnagain.
Jordan, a PhD in chemistry and a biotech whiz, balances her career working remotely for a startup named Acadium.
In Alaska, Dr. Green is still avidly playing Ultimate Frisbee, having found a vibrant community upon arriving. Whether practicing radiology or perfecting his frisbee throw, Dr. Green’s cheerfulness shines through, proving a magnetic quality his friends admire even if they occasionally tease him for being “relentlessly naive and optimistic.”
